Yep.....I'm at it again

Here it is, another crazy grocery picture. My kids keep asking me why I am taking a picture of our groceries. But these deals are to good to miss. Especially if you are wanting to build your food storage.Tomorrow is the last day to catch these great deals at Albies and Smiths. All of these were on sale and I used coupons on most of them making them even cheaper. All in All I spent These would have been over $150 and I spent $41. Making them about .95 cents an item.
Go get your goods!

Daves Talk

I know I have posted about this before but I feel this is something everyone should read. Our friend David passed away last month from cancer. A few weeks later we also lost another friend in our ward Bill Wilhelm to cancer.(We took temple classes from him and his wife. He was also an instrumental part of my husbands conversion to the gospel)
This has been hard on our ward, friends and family. When my cousin Kim was 27 she also passed away from cancer too. Leaving a 3 yr old and husband behind. I have never been comfortable with her passing. And don't know if I ever have felt like I have healed from it.
Needless to say, watching these two incredible men go through their recent trials has been hard for me. I mentioned in an earlier post that David had written a talk he wanted read and you can now access that talk on my blog. It is on my blog list under "forever family" his wife Georgia has done a great job with sharing memories and updating feelings on her blog. It has helped strengthen each of us through this hard time.
I hope all of take the time to read "Dave's talk" I think it will really put the important things into perspective for you. I know it has for me.

Catch up continued!

Saturday morning Victor and I ran the Army ROTC 5k. (Boy am I out of shape.) This was the same day of the Dance recital but I figured it would be a good stress reliever for the day. I did terrible! worst than last year. Oh well I'll just keep signing up hoping I will improve. I kept telling Victor that he needed to get running so he would be ready for it. I also lectured him about staying hydrated. Especially since this was his first one. Well, he blew everyone away. Seriously, he was one of the first to finish. He even waited for me at the finish line and ran with me. Oh to be 13 again!
We did have pictures but they didn't turn out Sorry!

2009 DANCE PICTURES (NOT ALL OF THE GIRLS WERE THERE THAT DAY)

Saturday was our Dance Recital. It was a lot of fun. Next year I will not be teaching. My oldest son will be a high schooler and I will be caught up running kids to and fro all day.

We as a family have also decided to make sure we eat every dinner together every night and we want to be better at regular Family Home Evenings. There were many reasons that determined this choice for me. It was very hard but I know it is right.I used to agonize over decisions but I am learning to take them to the the Lord. Make a chioce and then have faith in that choice.

I will miss it terribly. But, I am excited to be Mom again and not a crazy buisness owner. I am thankful I had the opportunity. Hopefully some of those sweet little girls can now say that they were a dancer when they maybe otherwise wouldn't have had the chance. What a blessing it has been!

Last week my Emilio and Alesia had a parade at there school to celebrate being a title 1 school. It was a "hats off parade." I made a sign for Alesia to carry. Emilio thought he was too cool to hold a sign but his teacher roped him into helping anyways. I love that my kids have all gone to the same school I went to for 3rd, 4th and fifth grade.

Catch up!

Wow what a crazy busy month. I have hardly been able to step back and take a breath. April 10th was Our 10th wedding Anniversary. Most people would be on the ball and post something on that day. But not me. Life has been too busy lately. Not much has changed. I'm still taller than him. He's still funnier than me.

My parents divorced when I was eight. And all I have ever wanted for my kids was a Dad in the home while they were growing up. I'm so grateful they have that. And he is incredible.I sure love him!

Small Miracles

Christmas 2008 Recital

Lately I have been in a blogging rut. This is why keeping a journal is so hard for me but I wanted to share my feelings about last week .

Last Friday we went to the funeral David Allred. He was a good friend of ours. He passed away from cancer. Aside from them being in our ward, We all had a little connection to their family. He was Victors Young men's leader. His son Caden and Emilio have been in the same class the last two years and are friends. His daughter Allison takes dance lessons from me. And Carlos and Dave were friends. Needless to say, we really love their family.

At the funeral his Mom read some things that Dave had written and wanted to have read at his funeral. There was one thing that really struck me. He said he knew how hard everyone prayed and fasted that he would be healed and a miracle would take place. But, he said his biggest fear is that because he wasn't physically healed he was afraid everyone would miss all the small miracles that had occurred.

It made me think about the small miracles in my life that have come and gone. For example, that same night I was in a lot of pain. I had recently done something to my neck and the pain was unbearable and I was about 8 days into it. I called my husband at work. He came home and him and my step brother gave me a priesthood blessing. I woke up the next day with more relief than I had felt in a week. Was it completely gone? No. But better? Yes. I could have written that off as nothing. But what a shame it would be to miss that small miracle.

Its amazing how one person can bring a ward closer, bring families closer and renew your faith in small miracles and a loving Heavenly Father. We will sure miss Dave but we know we will see him again.
