Good to be loved!

I am almost there! I have almost posted everyday this week. Yesterday I fell a little short but that's ok. I am trying! I noticed that all of my October posts started with a G. Not on purpose either. So I guess I will stick with it the rest of the week.

When I got home from my girls weekend on Saturday I arrived to a little note on the door. Alesia had made it. I thought it was so cute because it was in her little second grade handwriting. I even thought the misspelling's were adorable.

It feels so good to know you have been missed. Even if it is just for a day. These are the things as a Mom that melts my heart. Love, Love, Love being a Mom!

I am having major camera issues. I tried to download all my pictures off my camera and it erased all of them UGh!!! Anyways, the sign said, "Welcome bake Mom. We mist you!"

Gimmie a "C" Gimmie a "V"

We love High School Football games! We try to go to most home games. Its so fun to come together as a community and cheer for a team. Its fun to see old neighbors. And the kids like to meet up with their friends and just hang out. Plus for some reason the candy and drinks always taste better at the game. Carlos has been working at most of the games so its kind of how we spend quality time as a family lately.

Whenever I go it takes me back to when I was on the High School Drill Team and would perform during halftime. We love hearing the band and my kids love cheering for players that we Know.

Alesia has really gotten into it this year. She had me make her a tutu to wear to all the games and she has been getting her face painted too.

I'm so glad my kids enjoy it as much as my husband and I do!

Go to the Temple

This last week my Mom and I headed to Salt Lake for a girls weekend with my sisters. We were celebrating our birthdays. I turned 30 in September my sister Robyne just turned 35 in October and My sister Angie will turn 40 in November.
We were able to eat out, get pedicures, go to Ikea, visit, laugh and go to the Draper Temple.

Saturday morning we decided to do an Endowment session at the Draper Temple. I don't know what was wrong with me that day. I woke up with my emotions all out of sort. I have had some trials lately and didn't feel like being at the Temple. I'm sure Satan had a lot to do with that. I was fighting a sick stomach that morning and to be quite honest Endowment sessions make me nervous. I just always feel like I am screwing things up. Needless to say, my heart wasn't in the right place. I was sitting in the chapel with my Mom and sisters and I just wanted to get out of there.

I decided to go to the bathroom before the session started and take a little breather. There were so many things that I could have prayed for and answers I wanted on my behalf that day. But as I was taking my break I said a little prayer that I would put my selfish desires and wants and negativity aside and really focus on the person who's work I was doing. We had brought some names to do with us. These were people from my Mom and step Dad's side. I went down to St.George a week before and had done the Initiatories on them
after them sitting at my house for way too long. I knew how badly these needed to be
done and I needed to put myself in the right spirit to do them.

I sat back down in the chapel and immediately my emotions took over me. I started crying and couldn't stop. We hadn't even left to start the session and there I am bawling.I couldn't explain what had come over me. All I can say now is that it must have been the spirit.

I know that we all go to the Temple for many reasons. Sometimes seeking peace, searching for answers or enlightenment or feeling closeness to a loved one lost. All of these great reasons of course. And the Temple is a great place to receive inspiration and revelation on all of these. But I would encourage everyone to take the time every now and then and put your own wants aside and really focus on the person who's work you are doing. That is sometimes where the true blessings come from. I'm so glad that is what I did on that day. I didn't leave feeling cheated for not receiving answers for my problems. I just felt gratitude for doing a service for someone else and a renewed belief that our answers come in their own time wether it is at the Temple or not.

Got to do better!

I was reading through some of my old posts and realized I had only posted one thing for the month of September. How pathetic! I guess my attempt at journaling isn't working out to well. So, I decided I am going to try to post something everyday this week. It may be boring, silly, insightful (yeah right) or just a memory. But, I am determined to do better! So... today I am going to post about our many fall sports that are slowly coming to an end. Hallelujah!

Alesia played soccer for the second year. I was so glad to have it over. I am just so tired of AYSO soccer and hope something better will come along. She only had 6 players on her team this year.Compared to the 13 she had last year. Which meant they could never sub out or have a break. Plus they would play them at the hottest time of the day every game. After Many games she would come home and be sick. Luckily she would always smile out there and that made it so fun to watch. (Sorry about my venting)

Emilio has been playing Flag Football. He loves it! This is his second year of playing and of having his Dad as a coach. His team was made up of a bunch of boys he knew from school. He is still in the "picking grass stage" and "daydreaming" stage but he loves it and that's what counts!

After many years of playing soccer Olivia has advanced to a competition team. We decided this would be best for her since she is now in Middle School and will be in High school soon. She may be little but she can really hustle and hold her own out on the field. She never anticipated how hard a comp. team would be but she loves it!
I wasn't able to get very good pictures of Liv. The rules for the parents are much strickter than they are for the players so I couldn't get many or get very close.

*WARNING!!! THESES PICTURE CONTAIN IMAGES OF VERY SKINNY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS. PLEASE NOTE: THEIR MOTHERS DO FEED THEM,THIS IS JUST WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RUN AN INSANE AMOUNT OF MILES EACH DAY WHILE GOING THROUGH PUBERTY!

Victor is on the High School Cross country Team. He has been doing awesome! His first race was a few months ago and his time was around 22 min for 3 miles. He had also finished in the 100's or so. We had gotten used to looking for him at the end of all the hundreds of kids running but now we have been looking for him at the front. Its so fun! Each race he has been improving. His last race he finished in 17:49 for 3 miles and took 16Th overall. The first place finishers time was 17:01 if that helps put it into perspective. The poor boy looks like a starved child from a third world country though. I guess that's what running 5-6 miles a day will do for you. Maybe I should step up my game!

Graveyards

Carlos has been working the graveyard shift lately although, he is almost ready for a shift change. Yipee! I just thought it would be fun to post a picture of how he gets to sleep during the day. I bought this eye mask for Alesia at the Dollar Store but Carlos has taken over it for her. He decided it blocks the light out pretty good for him. He seriously wears this everyday. I love it! If your wondering what is on the mask, it is two little shut eyes.
