Now You See Them, Now You Don't

Braces

No more braces. Look at that great smile. This was a very eventful day. We celebrated by popping him some popcorn and talking about all the foods he could eat now.

This is Victor exactly 5 years ago

And this is Victor now. Shaving his stache for the first time. WHAT? I know, can you believe he is old enough to shave. I can hardly bear it. I can't believe what a difference 5 years make. It seems like it was just yesterday that he was 3 years old sitting in our car singing at the top of his lungs the words to "All my Life." by KC and Jo Jo. Oh how he loved that song. Ah Sigh.....

30 Weeks

Here they are. The 30 week belly shots. I know they are super goofy. My 8 yr old little camera girl did her best and I did my best to not bust up laughing while she was taking them. In the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy I was struggling to gain weight which is so not normal for me so my Dr. had me increasing my calories. I'm pretty sure I have made up for all of that in just this last month alone. Seriously, it has to be at least another 7 or 8 pounds in a month. I will know for sure Friday at my next appointment although I'm kinda scared to find out. This little guy is so active. It is making me anxious to welcome him into our family. I can't wait! But I do have to admit that the thought of going through labor again scares the heck out of me.

This beautiful crib was given to us courtesy of my sweet Grandma. She let me pick it out and was adamant about this baby having a new bed. And yes we are still having a boy. I know the pink on the walls is a little deceiving but he will be sharing a room with his sister and pink is the color she wanted. I will hopefully get the one wall that his crib is on painted a more boy color before I have him.

Third Trimester Tears

Well it finally happened. The hormones have taken over. I woke up the other morning just not feeling right. I called Carlos who was at work and told him that something was wrong and I just couldn't explain it. He asked me how the baby was and I said I thought he was probably fine. I told him that I just wanted to cry and couldn't explain it. I think a lot of it was that I had just had my last set of lab work done and my Rhogam shot. It made me realize that we are nearing the end and I had a little freak out session.

I have had a pretty good pregnancy. I'm not going to lie and say that there hasn't been ups and downs but I feel like I have been managing all of it as best as I can.I have enjoyed so much of it. I almost think my sadness is the thought of having to give it up soon. I really have been in love with being pregnant. Sadly, I have spent a lot of the time being worried about this little one. Probably since the day I found out I was pregnant I have worried. I guess I have just been in disbelief that the Lord is blessing us with another child after wanting and praying for this for so many years. Now I'm a little scared that I won't live up to his expectations.

I have to admit I am becoming more and more anxious as "the day" approaches. It doesn't help that Carlos is just as scared as I am. I have been having some struggles with my teens and it has left me wondering if I can be a good parent to another child. An amazing thing happens when your kids hit their teenage years. They have a way of making you feel like all you have done is ruined their life. You spend a lot of time replaying everything you have ever done while raising them and hope that they will like you again someday. You have to constantly remind yourself that it is a phase and pray that it will pass. I keep wondering if this little boy will like me. I have also worried that since it has been so long that I will forget what I am doing. Silly, I know.

Anyways, my husband has felt my recent apprehensions and he decided to give me a blessing the other day. It was a good relief to me and it reminded me of the fact that all I really need to do is trust in the Lord and have faith. It was so much like the blessing he gave me after almost a year of trying to conceive. I'm grateful for his willingness to use the priesthood when he knows that only the answers from my Heavenly Father will make me feel better. I also felt like it is okay to be scared and nervous and that my Heavenly Father won't leave my side when I feel that way.

So here we go... just about 2 and 1/2 months left. A new member of the family and a new adventure. No more third trimester tears. Wish us luck. We will need it.

It Must Be Fall!

I am so excited for Fall! It is my favorite time of year. I love the fall colors, the pumpkins, the cool breeze in the air and the smell of baked apples. Here are some of my most favorite things about Fall.

My Aunt and Uncle. They love Halloween as much as we do!

HALLOWEEN! Our family loves this holiday. We love to dress up and I especially love seeing all the cute little trick or treaters dressed up. It just melts my heart! It should be especially interesting to see what costume I can come up with this year since I will be 36 weeks preg. Oh well, I guess we will see.

CROSS COUNTRY AND SOCCER. Victor has been so busy with cross country. He just started his meets and he makes me so envious. I wish I could run with as much ease, speed and distance as he does. He makes it look so easy. Olivia has started a new competition soccer team. They are doing awesome! I still can't believe she will be in High School next year. Talk about a tear jerker.

THREE WORDS....HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL. No we don't have a son playing. (We wish we did.) Carlos and I just love High School Football.I love the energy in the air, the sound of the band and the community coming out to support their team. It also takes me back to some of the funnest days I had in High School which was performing at each halftime with the Drill Team. It has been fun sharing our love for it with our kids. They look forward to the games every weekend.

Unfortunately, Along with fall it also means sickness. Alesia already ended up home with a cough and fever the first week of school. So we are loading up on the Germex, Tylenol and Motrin and Vitamin C. Wishing a Happy Fall to Ya'll!

P.S. I know the song I have playing is a little peppy and yes I know it says sexy a ton of times but I love Janet Jackson and it just makes me want to get up and dance. Which is something I have needed to do for a while now. So no haters please!
