What a guy!

Lately when I have looked a little stressed or tired, Emilio has offered to let me listen to his relaxation CD. He asks me everyday if I had a long day at work. And if I answer yes then he gets his CD ready and also offers to rub my back.

It has made me think about all the times when he was a little baby and would fall asleep on my chest when I would rub his back.(I love it when I get those little flashbacks.)Its so nice when all the back rubs you give your kids start to come back to you. He is such a sweetheart. I'm so glad he has such a tender heart.

I'm on Strike!

It is 6:25pm on Tuesday and it is taking all I have to keep my eyes open. I have been hit with sheer exhaustion. Have you ever had one of those days? Last night we were awaken by some people hanging out in our front yard at 2am and it is catching up with me.

To make things worse I feel like my house is just falling apart. Lately no one has been willing to help with a thing. I have been feeling mad and unappreciated. As my kids get older it feels like the willingness to help becomes less and less but they are so quick to ask me what is for dinner and Mom do you have a few extra bucks or Mom can you take me here.

It took all I had not to post a picture of the mountain of laundry that is consuming my laundry room right now. I guess this week I just decided I WAS ON STRIKE. I feel like a maid sometimes. I just don't get it. I have taught my kids how to be responsible and how to pitch in but it just hasn't been happening. I feel like I am constantly on them to help me out.

So I decided I had enough and didn't pick up anything else that wasn't mine. (all of this was in hopes that they would see how pathetic the house was and pitch in) but NO! It still hasn't made a difference. I could seriously cry tonight. I'm sure this is because of frustration and lack of sleep right now. So dumb I know. But I have just always liked the feeling of a clean home. It comforts me and I have always tried to provide that for them.

I could yell. I could lecture. But tonight I am just choosing to go to bed and hope that someday I actually get through to them. Good thing I sure love them.

Love This Man!

Today is our Anniversary. 11 years of wonderful! Sure we've had our ups and downs but who hasn't. I can honestly say that I have an awesome marriage. My husband has me laughing all the time. He knows every fault and insecurity I have and he still makes me feel so special. I'm so glad he came into my life. He showed up at the right time and I have been blessed ever since.

Seriously Sick of Snow

This was the scene in front of our house April 1st. Right now I can hear the wind howling and the clouds are dark and depressing outside. I am in serious need of some sun! (I could totally be casted in the next twilight movie if I don't get sun soon) I can hardly wait for my heating bill to go down too.

Please Spring make your appearance!

Daddy's Great Idea

I have been meaning to post about this but I keep forgetting. Olivia and Alesia both have birthdays early in the year. This year Carlos decided we should get them each an outfit and then give them money for the rest of their gift.

The conditions were that they couldn't spend any of the money until he said they could. By the way, This was all his idea.

We headed to St. George to watch some videos at the temple visitors center. We went out to eat and then we went to the Mall. Carlos made the girls cover their eyes and took them to Claires. He told them to open their eyes and informed them that they could spend all of their birthday money in that store on whatever they wanted.

Then he ordered me to stay out of the store. I'm sure he was afraid that the control freak in me would decide what they needed to buy. Which couldn't be more true. I was thinking they should each get some hair clips and some jewelery and maybe a cute bag and some makeup. But that didn't happen.....Alesia came out of there with those "bump-its" that make your hair huge.(I could have died) She has been begging me to buy them and I have been telling her no.And then the rest of her money mostly went to make up. Olivia bought a belt, some candy and I think some chap stick. ( so typical for my little tomboy)

Anyways, they had tons of fun. Carlos had a great idea and they both left feeling super special.

P.S. Sorry about the pictures. The lady in the store freaked out and told me I couldn't take pictures in there. So I only got a couple.
