Last years pics

We returned this morning from Diego's follow up appointment at Primary Children's Hospital. I can't believe we have finally made it to this point. It seemed like last year when the Doctor told us that he wouldn't test him again until he was 15 months old that it would take forever for that time to get here. Well it crept up on us sooner than we thought. Thank goodness!
It was far more challenging than last time when he was 4 months old.I spent most of the night laying next to the crib trying to keep his hands from pulling off all of the cords. At least this time we were more prepared because we had already been through it. It is still not a place that you want to visit if you don't have too. A very special place but not one you want to take your child to as a patient.
When we made our way through the doors Carlos reminded of me of our first visit there and how scared we both were. We had no clue what we were dealing with and were so desperate for answers. Every time he fell asleep caused so much anxiety for us.
When we checked in last night we took his vitals and walked the halls until he got tired. He thought it was a dream come true. He played with every toy he could find. I can't believe how much he has changed since his last overnight visit. Last time he couldn't even sit up on his own.
When we got him hooked up and ready for bed he cried and cried. I finally had to rock him and sing him to sleep which he usually doesn't let me do anymore. After a very long night with hardly no sleep they came in at 6 am to unhook him. They let me give him a quick bath in the sink to clean off all of the goop and then they gave him 3 toy cars, a hat and blanket. We hit the cafeteria for breakfast on the way out and headed home.
We will go back in 3 weeks to go over the results. So now we wait. Thanks for all of the prayers. We never could have imagined dealing with a challenge like this but feel so blessed for the the strength we have gained from it.

Good luck my friend! I found your blog a few weeks ago, and it's nice to catch up. If I had your email I would invite you to mine. It's my first and last name at gmail. Best wishes for the next three weeks!
My sweet Diego! Let me know what you find out! Love you lots!
He has grown up so much! I hope and pray your follow up visit yields great news.
Thank you for posting how it went. I hope he got enough sleep for the tests to produce a good reading. Our love to each of you.
