So Behind!

I am SO behind as far as journaling goes but I thought I had better try to get caught up on a few things.

In December Alesia had her Dance Recital. She has been dancing with this group since the end of September. She did a great job. It is a very competitive group and I was worried about her being able to keep up but she did wonderful!

I have to share some reasoning behind my decision to put her in this group. When I stopped teaching dance I knew that I would have to find a place for my "dancing daughter" to go to. Well as silly as it sounds it was a very hard choice for me. So hard that I didn't sign her up with any group for two years. I asked around for ideas and places but ultimately decided on Onstage.

I was really on the fence about putting her in this group because they are so competitive and pricey. I also didn't love how snotty some of the girls and many of the parents are. But I knew as far as technique and having her advance she would need to be in this group. So I prayed about it. (See what I mean, silly I know) and I finally came to the conclusion to put her in only one class right now and possibly move on to more in the future. She is currently taking a Modern dance class.

Her first day of class was really rough. She had a rude little girl make a very mean comment to her. It continued to be like that for a couple of weeks so I talked to the teacher and she stopped it immediately. I told her after the Christmas recital that she could quit if she was hating it but she has decided to stick with it. I am so glad . After seeing the recital it confirmed to my husband and I that we made a good choice. Her dance group truly turns out some amazing dancers.Don't get me wrong...I told her if I see one ounce of being snotty that I would pull her on the spot. It has been challenging for her but also a good thing too.

I love Alesia! She reminds me so much of you. Especially with her hair pulled back, I swear I was looking at a picture of you as a little girl.

Alesia is so pretty! I agree with Robyne she reminds me of you too. I don't think you have to worry about her being snotty. You haven't raised your kids to be like that.
