Emilio and his cousin Katy on his blessing day

Today is Emilio's birthday. I can't believe he is ten. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I had him.I was so young but so happy to be a Mom.
Emilio's delivery went so fast for me. I had been told by everyone including my Dr that since he was my first that it would probably take 16-20+ hrs to have him.
I went in to the hospital dilated to a 1 and had him 4hrs and 48 minutes later. Everything went so fast. I just remember throwing up, being told the anesthesiologist was in surgery and delivering him face up which resulted in a bad tailbone injury for me. I also remember the nurse telling me that he had lots of black hair. I just couldn't believe her since most of my nieces and nephews were bald or redheads. He weighed 7lbs 1 oz.
I remember not wanting to let him out of my sight.I was so excited to have a boy first. I loved having big brothers to watch over me.
He is our shy boy. A lot like I was as a kid. He also has such a tender heart. He doesn't like hurting others. He makes me enjoy the simpler, quiter things in life.I love him so much and am so grateful that I get to be his Mommy!

Happy 10th Birthday!!
Brecklyn's 10th is tomorrow, I had forgotten that they were born so close. Boy has time really flown by!
We are so glad to have Emilio in the family. What a sweetheart...and he still lets grandma give him a kiss (he's a good boy!!). Love you, Emilio.
I love it when you talk about your kids Kari. You're such a good mom. Happy Birthday Emilio!
Happy, Happy, Birthday Emilio! He is a shy boy, but he was coming out of his shell at the cabin over the 24th. He kept calling Victor and himself and mexican indonesian. Where he got that I don't know. But he was busting up laughing. It's the most I've ever heard him talk. It was great. Love that sweet boy!!!!
